ABC licensed retailers are required to obtain a permit to legally import and transport alcoholic beverages into DC. Permits are restricted for products that cannot be obtained in a sufficient quantity from an ABC-licensed manufacturer or wholesaler.

DC residents who are 21 years of age or older who wish to register in the District's medical cannabis program must submit an Adult Medical Cannabis Patient Application. 

Persons may apply for a Temporary License to sell, serve, and allow the consumption of alcohol at indoor and outdoor events, such as weddings, bazaars, and fundraisers, for up to four (4) consecutive days. 

The Alcoholic Beverage Control Board (Board) will hold a public hearing to receive public comment concerning the Medical Cannabis Notice of Emergency and Proposed Rulemaking, which the Board approved on March 3, 2021, by a vote of seven (7) to zero (0).
