Extended Hours—2022 FIFA World Cup

Overview 

Allows alcohol licensed establishments to sell, serve, and permit the consumption of alcohol between 6:00 a.m.- 4:00 a.m. and operate 24-hours on days during the 2022 World Cup.  

Eligibility 

On-Premises Retailers and Manufacturers with an On-Site Sales and Consumption Permit, including Temporary Licenses, are eligible.  

Settlement Agreements and Board Orders apply and may affect eligibility.  

Registration in ABRA’s Extended Holiday Hours Program and previous World Cup application approvals do not extend to the 2022 World Cup. 

Valid Period and Fees

Extended hours start the evening of the first day of the series—Sunday, November 20—and end at 4:00 a.m. on the last day—Sunday, December 18, 2022. 

A fee of $100 covers the entire eligible licensure period. An online payment link may be requested by emailing [email protected].  

To Apply

Applicants must submit an Extended Hours World Cup Registration by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 17. ABC Board approval is not required.  

Approval of extended alcohol service hours does not extend ABC Board approved entertainment hours. To modify entertainment hours, a Substantial Change Application must be submitted.  

Of Note

ABRA will issue a permit that must be displayed next to your alcohol license during the period of extended hours.  

A roster of approved establishments will be published on ABRA’s website and provided to the Metropolitan Police Department and ABRA Enforcement Division.
