A moratorium on the issuance of certain retailer’s alcoholic beverage licenses is currently in effect in the Glover Park neighborhood until February 21, 2016. The moratorium extends approximately 1,200 feet in all directions from 2436 Wisconsin Avenue, NW.
Several restrictions apply within the Glover Park Moratorium Zone, including:
- No new retailer's license class A or B.
- No new retailer's license class C or D may be issued to a nightclub, tavern or multipurpose facility.
- No more than 14 retailer's licenses class C are permitted to be issued to restaurants.
All hotels are exempt from the terms of the moratorium.
