To ensure that DC residents are able to readily purchase medical cannabis as recommended by their healthcare provider, ABRA will host a weekend patient and caregiver registration event at ABRA’s office on Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Qualifying applicants will be issued a two (2) year registration at no cost.

Expedited walk-in registration events coined Turnaround Thursdays will continue to take place every Thursday from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. through April 28, 2022.

At each event, DC residents who submit a complete patient or caregiver application will receive a digital and physical registration during their visit. Registrations issued at each event may start to be used at any of DC’s seven (7) licensed dispensaries starting at 6:00 p.m. on the date of issuance. Patient and caregiver applications are available on ABRA’s website.

Additionally, there is no cost to register, healthcare provider recommendations issued within two (2) years of the application date may be used, and issued registrations will be valid for two (2) years from the issuance date for applications submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, January 31, 2022. 

ABRA’s office is located in the Frank D. Reeves Center of Municipal Affairs at 2000 14th Street NW, Washington DC, 20009. All members of the public must wear a face mask to enter a District Government building. Guests must pass through security and present a photo identification for entry.

DC residents that are not able to attend an in-person event can continue to submit applications online (preferred) and by mail. Applications received or postmarked by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, January 31, 2022 will qualify for the fee waiver and a two (2) year registration.
