The reimbursable detail subsidy to MPD returns after funding suspension.

(Washington, DC) – Return of the Reimbursable Detail Subsidy: Beginning July 1, 2011, the Alcoholic Bever-age Regulation Administration (ABRA) will reimburse the Metropolitan Police Depart-ment (MPD) twenty-five percent (25%) of the costs incurred by ABC licensees for MPD officers working reimbursable details under the Reimbursable Detail Subsidy Program. Funding under the Program is limited to Friday and Saturday nights between the hours of midnight and 4 a.m.

On March 2, 2011, the Board had previously suspended funding for the Program on an emergency basis, effective April 1, 2011, to preserve the remaining funds in the Pro-gram for use later in FY 2011 during the busier summer months. The Fiscal Year 2011 Revised Budget Request Act of 2010, signed by the Mayor on December 17, 2010, re-duced funding for the Program in FY 2011 by $500,000. The ABC Board decided to reinstate funding for the Program on June 1, 2011, citing the importance of the Program to public safety.
