The District has launched several innovative programs to assist alcohol licensed establishments impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) reopen for business and to safely serve customers. They include:
- New and Expanded Outdoor Dining Seating
Allows licensees to sell and serve alcohol for on-premises consumption in newly created and expanded outdoor dining space on public and private property.
- Carry-out and Delivery from Licensed Location
Under the pilot program, made permanent effective October 1, 2020, licensees may sell alcohol for carry-out and delivery from their licensed premises with at least one (1) prepared food item.
- Pop-Up Location
Allows licensees to sell alcohol for carry-out and delivery with at least one (1) prepared food item and for on-premises consumption from up to two (2) locations in DC other than their licensed premises.
- Winter Ready Grant program
Licensees can apply for assistance as they winterize their outdoor dining areas and maintain outdoor dining operations through the colder months. ABRA does not administer this program.
There is no fee to participate in any of the relief programs. Participation is optional.
