Overview

Cultivation Centers are establishments that are licensed to grow and distribute cannabis to dispensaries registered the District for medical purposes. Medical cannabis grown at cultivation centers is subject to testing for quality assurance and safety purposes.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet general qualification requirements including good character, having no felony convictions, having never been convicted of a misdemeanor for a drug-related offense, and being at least 21 years of age.

Licensed physicians that make patient recommendations are not eligible.

A cultivation center owner may only register for one (1) cultivation center.

To Apply or Renew

Applications are only accepted during open application windows.

A point process system is used to award dispensary licenses. Considerations include location, staffing, security, inventory, and neighborhood impact.

A letter of intent is required.

Valid Period and Fees

Licenses are valid for one (1) year. An annual fee applies. See Fee and Renewal Schedule.
