Permits

The following permits are provided by the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration (ABRA):

Brew Pub*

Authorizes the holder to brew malt beverages at one (1) location for consumption at a licensed restaurant or tavern. The location used to brew malt beverage shall be on or immediately adjacent to the licensed restaurant or tavern where the brewed beverage is sold to the public and shall be in the brew-pub zone.

Corporate Changes of Officers, Directors, or Partners*

Corporate Changes of Officers, Directors or Partners Instructions (Spanish)*

If there is a change in corporate officers, directors, limited or general a partners in a partnership, or persons owning or controlling more than twenty-five percent (25%) of the common stock of a corporate licensee, the corporation or partnership must submit to the Board within seven (7) days the minutes or other instrument giving the names and addresses of any new officer, director, partner or person holding twenty-five (25%) or more of the stock.

Importation Permit

Authorizes holder of a Retailer's License to transport alcoholic beverages when beverages bearing the same brand or trade name are not obtainable by the retail licensee from a licensed manufacturer or wholesaler in the District of Columbia in sufficient quantity to reasonably satisfy the immediate needs of the retail licensee.

Any license discontinued for any reason whatsoever must be surrendered by the licensee to the Board for safekeeping, to be held by the Board until it is transferred or the licensee resumes business on the licensed premises.

Sampling Permit*

Authorizes holder of a Retailer's Class A license to utilize a portion of the licensed premises for the sampling of alcoholic beverages during the hours of sale. Containers of alcoholic beverages used for sampling purposes should be labeled and may not be sold.
